Our Commitment
Ethics Policy
Upholding the rights of First Nations creators through fair trade, cultural respect, and sustainable economic empowerment.
Integrity in Practice
The Indigenous Art Code
Ancient Journeys is a proud and committed signatory to the Indigenous Art Code. We stand firmly against the exploitation of First Nations artists and the proliferation of fake Aboriginal art in the marketplace.
Every artwork, artefact, and product featured in our gallery is guaranteed to be authentic. We ensure that our artists are treated with the utmost respect, and that they retain full agency and copyright over their cultural stories and creations. By upholding these standards, we provide buyers with complete confidence that their purchases directly support legitimate Indigenous creators.

Direct Compensation
Ethical trade means ensuring our artists are compensated fairly and transparently. We work directly with independent artists and established community art centres to guarantee that creators receive their proper, negotiated share of every sale.
There are no hidden fees, unfair contracts, or exploitative practices. Our business model is designed to foster sustainable economic independence for our indigenous artists allowing them to support their families while pursuing their creative passions.

The GREAT Initiative
Ancient Journeys operates as a vital initiative of the Gulf Regional Economic Aboriginal Trust (GREAT). As a 100% Aboriginal-owned enterprise, our purpose goes beyond retail - it is entirely community-focused.
All profits generated by Ancient Journeys are channeled directly back into the Lower Gulf of Carpentaria. These funds are used to finance essential community development projects, youth programs, and cultural preservation efforts. When you buy from Ancient Journeys, you are investing in the future and well-being of Gulf communities.
