Gulf & Beyond
Our Artists
Explore authentic strokes, weaves, and carvings from communities in the Lower Gulf of Carpentaria, complemented by pieces from Indigenous Art Centres across North Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Regional Focus
Lower Gulf Communities
The heart of Ancient Journeys lies in communities along the Lower Gulf of Carpentaria. The gallery supports both emerging and established Aboriginal artists from this region, showcasing the richness of their creativity — from paintings and ceramics to carvings, textiles and traditional artefacts. All original wall paintings are sourced exclusively from the Lower Gulf. Every Gulf painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the artist and their story.
Partner Art Centres
