Handmade Shell Necklace with Shell Pendant by Sharna Wurramara –– Anindilyakwa Arts

$160.00

This handmade shell necklace by Sharna Wurramara from Anindilyakwa Arts on Groote Eylandt is a stunning piece of Aboriginal jewellery. It is made up of clusters of tiny shells in various natural colours, each carefully pierced and threaded onto durable nylon to create a unique and textured design. The necklace measures 86 cm in total length, with a 49 cm drop, and features a silver-coloured toggle clasp for easy fastening. At the base, a long white shell, 6 cm in length, serves as a striking pendant, completing the necklace with a natural, elegant focal point.

Each piece is one-of-a-kind, reflecting the skill and creativity of the Anindilyakwa women artists who collect the shells locally and transform them into wearable art. This necklace celebrates traditional Aboriginal shellcraft techniques while bringing the natural beauty of Groote Eylandt to everyday style.
