This 19cm ceramic square bowl has been hand-painted by Cheryl Oliver, an Arrernte artist from Keringke Arts Aboriginal Art Centre in Ltyentye Apurte, Northern Territory. The square form provides a striking surface for Cheryl’s vibrant design.
The interior and base are painted black, serving as a deep backdrop for layers of dot artwork. Bright rings and circles in oranges, yellows and whites form bold, energetic patterns, while metallic gold dots add sparkle and depth. The black spaces between the main patterns are filled with countless tiny white dots, giving the piece texture, movement and a lively, intricate finish. The underside is painted black and signed by the artist.
