This ceramic plate has been hand-painted by Cheryl Oliver, an Arrernte artist from Keringke Arts Aboriginal Art Centre in Ltyentye Apurte, Northern Territory. Measuring 20cm x 20cm, the square form provides the perfect canvas for Cheryl’s detailed design.
The top surface has a black base filled with dots of all sizes, including tiny lime green dots that form a mottled dark green effect accented with metallic gold dots. Circles of dots in oranges, yellows, browns, and whites, create vibrant rings and patterns. The underside is also painted black and signed by the artist.
Both decorative and functional, this plate highlights the vibrancy of contemporary Aboriginal art.
