This ceramic plate has been hand-painted by Lauren Bloomfield, an Arrernte artist from Keringke Arts Aboriginal Art Centre in Ltyentye Apurte, Northern Territory. Measuring 20cm x 20cm, the square form provides an ideal canvas for Lauren’s detailed and harmonious design.
The plate has been painted black all over, creating a deep base for the dot work. Layers of circles and rings in soft corals, warm browns, creams and whites form intricate, repeating patterns. Each ring uses slightly different tones within the same palette, giving the overall design a beautifully balanced, elegant, and effective finish. The underside is also painted black and signed by the artist.
Both decorative and functional, this plate showcases the richness and contemporary style of Aboriginal hand-painted ceramics.
