Dear Son is a powerful collection of heartfelt letters from First Nations men, exploring themes of life, masculinity, love, culture, and racism. Edited by Thomas Mayo, the anthology includes personal letters to sons or fathers from 12 contributors, offering a diverse range of voices celebrating First Nations manhood. In addition to vivid prose and poetry by Mayo, the work reflects the growing strength of First Nations peoples as they challenge harmful stereotypes and reconnect with their communities and cultures. The book features artwork by Kaurna/Ngarrindjeri/Narrunga/Italian Australian artist Tony Wilson, with illustrations and design by Gamilaraay designer Tristan Schultz of Relative Creative.
