Using This Website

By visiting our website and placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. We may update them from time to time, and the latest version will apply to future orders.

Order & Enquiry Processing
Orders and emails are handled Monday to Friday, 9 am–5 pm AEST, excluding public holidays.
All orders received will be processed the next business day, and shipping will follow accordingly.


Pricing & Payments

  • All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD).

  • GST (Goods and Services Tax) is included for Australian orders.

  • International orders will have GST automatically removed at checkout when a non-Australian delivery address is used.

  • International postage does not include GST.

  • Banks or card providers may apply currency conversion fees for international payments. These are outside our control.

  • We accept major credit cards and PayPal.

  • A tax invoice will be included inside your parcel for your records. For gift orders where the shipping address is different from the billing address, the invoice will not be included in the parcel.

Payments will appear as “Gulf Projects Pty Ltd” on your statement.


Product Availability & Information

  • Additional designs or stock may be available in-store — please email (or phone) if you’re looking for more.

  • We do our best to ensure accurate descriptions and stock levels.

  • If we discover an error in a listing, pricing, or availability, we will contact you to offer a suitable outcome such as a refund, replacement, or cancellation.
  • Many items are unique and handmade, so availability can change quickly.

Shipping & Delivery

  • We use Australia Post wherever possible.

  • Shipping costs are calculated at checkout. If the cost is significantly incorrect, we will contact you to:
    • refund any overpayment, or
    • advise of any additional cost before sending your order

  • Estimated delivery times:
    • Australia: 3–6 business days (Express Postage also available)
    • International: 10–14 business days (Express Postage also available)

  • Paintings purchased online are usually shipped rolled in tubes unless otherwise arranged. In-store purchases include stretching on lightweight Australian pine frames.

  • Oversized artworks (too large for Australia Post) require a separate freight service. We will assist with arrangements and payment is made via phone or email.

  • Insurance is not included in shipping costs. Customers may request insurance for any shipment — it is required for high-value items such as Aurukun dogs.

  • USA Orders: Due to current import tariffs on Australian goods, a 10% surcharge applies to orders shipped to the United States. This will be shown at checkout.

Sustainability & Packaging

We care about reducing waste. Your order may arrive in recycled or reused packaging — always clean, sturdy, and chosen to protect your items while helping us reduce our environmental footprint.


Import Duties & Restrictions (International Orders)

International customers are responsible for any local customs duties, taxes, or import restrictions.
Please ensure products made from timber or natural materials comply with your country’s customs regulations.


Returns, Refunds & Problems With Your Order

We follow Australian Consumer Law and aim to make things simple.

Change of mind

  • Please contact us within 5 days of receiving your order.

  • Items must be unused, in original condition and packaging.

  • Return shipping (and insurance) is the customer’s responsibility.

  • All returns must be sent via a tracked service so both you and we can follow the parcel.

  • A refund will be processed once the item is received back in good condition.

Faulty or damaged on arrival

  • Please email us within 5 days with photos if possible.

  • We will assist with a repair, replacement, or refund as required by law.

  • Items must be returned using a tracked service.

Artworks

  • Customers are responsible for insurance when returning artworks.

  • All returned artworks must be sent via a tracked service.

  • Original artworks are unique — replacements may not always be available.

Privacy

We collect only the personal information needed to process orders and provide customer service.
Payments are securely processed through trusted third-party providers.
Customers may request a copy of their information or corrections at any time as permitted by law.


Copyright & Intellectual Property

  • Artists retain copyright over their artworks.

  • All images, text, and content on this website are owned by Ancient Journeys or the artists.

  • Unauthorised use or reproduction is not permitted.

  • We proudly support the Indigenous Art Code and ensure fair royalties to artists.


Liability

We take great care with product descriptions and packaging, but customers are responsible for confirming suitability for their needs (including import restrictions). We are not liable for delivery delays, customs processes, courier issues, or incorrect delivery details provided by the customer.


Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions and all online purchases are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
