About the Artist
Riki Salam is an Indigenous artist from Cairns, connected to both the Torres Strait and Yalanji Country through his father, and Ngai Tahu in New Zealand through his mother. He creates his art using a variety of mediums like pen, ink, gouache, acrylic, and digital tools, blending traditional cultural themes with modern styles. Currently, Riki lives in Brisbane, which is on the traditional lands of the Turrbul and Yaggera people.
